Krzysztof Jablonski

Krzysztof Jablonski is Laureate of the F. Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw in 1985 as well as numerous top prizes at international piano competitions in Milan, Palm Beach, Monza, Dublin, New York, Calgary as well as Gold Medal at the A. Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition in Tel Aviv.

For more than 30 years Jablonski is active performing solo, chamber music as well as with orchestras on stages in Europe, Americas, Asia and Israel in prestigious concert halls, including appearances on the Master Concert Series at Berliner Philharmonie. A frequent guest of many orchestras, performed under the baton of V. Gergiev, A. Boreyko, K. Penderecki, J. Semkow, J. Kaspszyk, J. Maksymiuk, G. Nowak, F. Brueggen, W. Bothe, Y. Tezuka, T. Shimono, A. Wit, J. Alexander Braginsky

Alexander Braginsky was born and educated in Moscow. He received his first piano lessons from his mother, a well-known concert pianist. At the age of six he began study with Alexander Goldenweiser, a close friend of Leo Tolstoy and a classmate of Rachmaninov and Scriabin.

It was through Goldenweiser, with whom he spent 12 years as his youngest student, that Braginsky came into contact with the great 19th-sentury romantic tradition. After Goldenweiser death, he continued to study with Theodore Gutman, another illustrious representative of the “Golden Age” of Russian piano school. Braginsky’s repertoire extends from Baroque to avant-garde. He performed over twenty world premieres, most of which were works commissioned and written for him, including music by Stephen Paulus, Libby Larsen and Paul Fetler’s Piano Concerto, commissioned by the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. Braginsky performed extensively in the former USSR, Israel, England, Belgium, Italy, Germany, Taiwan, the People’s Republic of China, Japan, Spain, France, Cuba and the United States…

Jin Zhang

Jin Zhang, a renowned piano educator, professor of the Central Conservatory of Music, director of the Piano Division of the Middle School attached to the Central Conservatory of Music, started piano lessons with his mother, Professor Wenju Sui. He also studied with Professor Gongyi Zhu and Professor Huili Li.

In 1983 he was admitted to the Piano Department of the Central Conservatory of Music where he studied under Professor Yiming Pan and Professor Jun Yang and graduated with honors in 1987. In 2004, Jin Zhang graduated with honors from the Graduate School of the Chinese National Academy of Arts.

In the past ten years, many of his students have competed in competitions held in the USA, Japan, France, Poland, Canada, Russia, Ukraine, Korea, Brazil, Greece, China Taipei and won numerous prizes. These competitions include…

Kathy Dornian

A native Calgarian, Kathy Dornian is a nationally respected pedagogue, chamber musician, adjudicator and examiner. She earned a Master of Music Degree in piano performance from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Education and Kodaly Fine Arts Diploma from the University of Calgary.

Her education was enriched by post-graduate performance studies at the prestigious Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary. Her teachers have included Marilyn Engle, Peter Smith and Edith Hambalko, along with masterclass enrichment from many notable artists throughout the years. Since 1985, Kathy Dornian has served on faculty at Mount Royal University Conservatory where she pursues an extensive and versatile career as a musician. She has built a solid reputation over the years as a sensitive and accomplished teacher, accompanist and chamber partner. She is currently an artistic collaborator with the internationally recognized Morningside Music Bridge Program, an affiliation which has taken her to Shanghai and Poland.
